Sundbyholm’s marina
One of the most beautiful guest harbours in Sweden.
Proceed to Sundbyholm’s marina
There are plenty of things to do at Sundbyholm. A walk along the beach, out to the cape and back, through the castle parks, continue alongside the pleasure boat marina and through the beech forest to the Sigurd Rune and back – about a one hour walk. Truly magnificent all year round. The famous Sigurd Rune is only a 15 minute walk from the Castle – one of the largest Viking era rock carvings in Sweden. Sundbyholm has one of the largest guest harbors for pleasure boats of Lake Malaren. In our surroundings you will also find Europe’s northernmost beech forests. Some 1500 meters (1 mile) from the Castle there is a well-kept harness racetrack. An excursion in itself can be Hammartorp’s farm with its farm shop, “Sundbyholms Kött och Fisk”, which has its own smoking facilities for meat and fish. By car from here it only takes a few minutes to go there. And of course there is always Eskilstuna, the closest town, only 12 kilometers (7 miles) to the city center with all its boutiques and shopping centers as well as museums. A visit to the Radermacher blacksmiths can be recommended, not to mention one of Sörmland’s major tourist attractions, “Parken Zoo”, which has both a zoo and an amusement park. At the Munktell museum you can experience 175 years of Swedish industrial history. Another idea is to go to a nearby village called Torshälla, located about 12 kilometers away, which is a tourist attraction in itself with its cozy alleys and sculptures by the artist Allan Ebeling. Most welcome to Sundbyholm! |
