A sparkling New Year celebration at the castle.

New Year’s Eve is likely the most important holiday of the year. It is when we celebrate the end of the old year, 2026, and welcome the new year, 2027. Perhaps we also take the opportunity to make one or more New Year’s resolutions. At Sundbyholm Castle, we celebrate New Year’s Eve with a sparkling New Year package that includes an overnight stay, starting with freshly baked afternoon tea. In the evening, we will have our traditional New Year’s buffet with plenty of meats, fish, and seafood. A wine package is included.

On New Year’s Eve, most of our guests typically follow a dress code, which means a full suit for men and more flexibility for women, such as a dress, skirt, suit, or pantsuit.

After dinner, there will be live music and dancing with our New Year’s band Jag & Du (the same New Year’s band as last year).

After the lady of the castle delivers her New Year’s speech in rhyme, a dazzling fireworks display will light up the sky over the castle park at midnight. Following that, there will be a gathering in Riddarsalen for more dancing for those who wish to continue. Hot dogs will be offered as a late-night snack, and then a cozy bed awaits with a leisurely morning and the final meal of the hotel package, breakfast. A warm welcome to our New Year’s celebration in a beautiful castle setting!

New Year’s Package for Two Nights

Check-in on 30th December at 3 PM Check-out on 1st January at 12 PM

December 30th:

  • Tasting of the sommelier’s selection of champagnes and sparkling wines (a total of 5 different ones) under the guidance of the experienced (and humorous) sommelier Lotta Junger. Suitable snacks will be served to highlight different nuances in the wines.
    Before and after dinner, those who wish may also visit the castle’s cozy bar.
  • Three-course served dinner at elegantly set tables with lit candles. Starting time will be chosen at the time of booking.
  • Overnight stay in the selected hotel room category.

December 31st (New Year’s Eve):

  • Breakfast at the castle from 8:00 AM. Starting time will be provided at check-in.
  • The castle’s grand Afternoon Tea from 1:00 PM. Starting time will be chosen at the time of booking.
    Afternoon Tea will be cleared at 3:30 PM. Afterwards, you are welcome to visit the castle’s cozy bar if you wish.
  • You will sit down to enjoy the castle’s New Year’s buffet (meat, fish, seafood) starting at 6:30 PM. Starting time will be chosen at the time of booking.
  • Two different desserts at the buffet.
  • Three glasses of the evening’s selected wines (white/red/dessert wine).
    It is possible to substitute the wine for beer/cider/soda if you prefer.
  • Coffee and chocolate pralines after dinner.
  • Dancing in Riddarsalen to our New Year’s band (in 2026, it will be “Jag & Du,” just like last year) starting around 10 PM.
  • The castle lady’s New Year’s speech in rhyme in Riddarsalen shortly after 11:30 PM.
  • A glass of champagne can be picked up between 11:40 PM – 11:55 PM in Nedre Jakthallen.
  • Fireworks over the castle park at midnight.
  • Dancing continues for those who wish around 12:20 AM to 1:20 AM in Riddarsalen.
  • Late-night snacks in the form of hot dogs around 12:30 AM – 1:00 AM.
    We say goodnight at 1:30 AM.
  • Overnight stay in the selected hotel room category.

January 1st (New Year’s Day):

  • Breakfast at the castle from 9:00 AM. Starting time will be provided at check-in.

Check-in on 31/12 from 15:00 to the hotel room (afternoon tea at the castle starts from 13:00)

Most rooms are usually ready for check-in by 13:00 when afternoon tea begins.

On December 31 (New Year’s Eve):

  • The castle’s grand Afternoon Tea from 13:00. Start time is chosen at the time of booking.
    Afternoon tea will be cleared away at 15:30. After that, you are welcome to visit the cozy bar at the castle if you wish.
  • You will sit down to enjoy the castle’s New Year’s buffet (meat, fish, seafood) from 18:30. Start time is chosen at the time of booking.
  • Two different desserts at the buffet.
  • Three glasses of the evening’s selected wines (white/red/dessert wine).
    You can substitute the wine for beer/cider/soda if you prefer this instead.
  • Coffee and chocolate pralines after dinner.
  • Dancing in Riddarsalen to our New Year’s band (in 2026 it will be Jag & Du, just like last year) starting around 22:00.
  • The castle lady’s New Year’s speech in rhyme in Riddarsalen shortly after 23:30.
  • A glass of champagne will be available for pick-up from 23:40 to 23:55 in the Nedre Jakthallen.
  • Fireworks over the castle park at midnight.
  • Dancing continues for those who wish around 00:20 to 01:20 in Riddarsalen.
  • Late-night snacks in the form of hot dogs around 00:30-01:00.
    We say goodnight at 01:30.
  • Overnight stay in the selected hotel room category.

On January 1 (New Year’s Day):

  • Breakfast at the castle from 09:00. Start time will be provided at check-in.

Hotellet har reception, 11 standard dubbelrum, 48 mindre dubbelrum, konferenslokalerna Amiralen, Kaptenen och Löjtnanten samt grupparbetsrum.

The harbour café offers ice cream, snacks and light meals.

The Coachman's Quarters

The Coachman's Quarters from the 17th century offer two suites and one small double room.

The Keeper's House

The Keeper's House has two conference rooms and several break-out rooms.

The Pavilion

Paviljongen innehåller åtta standard dubbelrum och konferenslokalen Lövsalen.

The Wagonsmith

The red two-storey building is called the Wagonsmith and has 12 standard double rooms.

The Chalets

Dessa tio chaleter byggdes strax efter andra världskriget och här finns åtta juniorsviter (familjerum), 16 standard dubbelrum samt fyra spasviter med bastu och bubbelbadkar.

Här finns tre varma utomhus hot spa bad, som kan hyras i receptionen.
